Useful research has been published in the British Medical Journal titled:
Home versus outpatient ultraviolet B phototherapy for mild to severe psoriasis
Objective: To determine whether ultraviolet B phototherapy at home is equally safe and equally effective as ultraviolet B phototherapy in an outpatient setting for patients with psoriasis.
Conclusion: "Ultraviolet B phototherapy administered at home is equally safe and equally effective, both clinically and for quality of life, as ultraviolet B phototherapy administered in an outpatient setting. Furthermore, ultraviolet B phototherapy at home resulted in a lower burden of treatment and led to greater patients’ satisfaction."

Red light therapy and narrowband UVB — the same physics, a different part of the spectrum
The 2000SX emits narrowband ultraviolet at 311nm. Dermfix also manufactures red light therapy panels, which emit visible red and near-infrared light between 480 and 1060nm and no ultraviolet at all. A different part of the spectrum for a different purpose — but the same measurement discipline, the same UK warehouse and the same manufacturer since 2009.
Customers who already use a UVB lamp often ask about red light for skin, recovery and joints. Every Dermfix RLF panel publishes its spectrometer-measured output at a stated distance of 15cm, per model rather than per range. Our UK red light panel buyer's guide explains how to compare any panel on the market, and our guide to UVB phototherapy sets out how the two families of light differ.
Red light is not a substitute for narrowband UVB phototherapy, and the red light panels are not offered as treatment for any medical condition.
